Focus on investigating failures, determining flight-standard compliance, improving factory processes, and launching new products into production.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; onsite late shift, Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM

What you will do

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing systems for rocket, spacecraft, and subsystem production.
  • Support production goals while maintaining quality and improving existing products and new designs.
  • Investigate manufacturing failures, implement corrective actions, and assess whether parts meet flight standards through engineering analysis.
  • Create procedures, test methods, reliable hardware, and test setups for production and critical systems.
  • Review designs for manufacturability and testability, support new product launches, and identify equipment and systems needs.
  • Mentor technicians and newer engineers while managing projects with minimal oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer, chemical, or materials engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • 0–5 years of technical experience in manufacturing, production, or process engineering.
  • Hands-on experience solving problems in complex manufacturing systems and foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, autonomy on complex assignments, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant discipline experience in assembly and integration, avionics and electrical testing, composites, or machining; machining candidates should have GD&T, inspection methods, CAM, and 3- or 5-axis CNC experience.
  • For New Zealand roles, eligibility to access equipment and data regulated under U.S. ITAR requirements is required; nationality checks and background checks will be conducted before an employment offer.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge and cross-discipline manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with ERP or PLM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter or Infor LN.
  • Knowledge of production quality metrics and environmental or production acceptance testing.
