Head of Data Collection Operations (AI Robotics)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end data operations for hirify.global’s Brain, including data intake, collection, labeling, quality auditing, and delivery of training and evaluation datasets.
• Design scalable workflows, staffing plans, quality checkpoints, documentation, and standard operating procedures for in-house and vendor teams.
• Define and monitor throughput, accuracy, turnaround time, and cost-per-label metrics through dashboards and regular reporting.
• Manage external labeling and annotation vendors, including onboarding, training, performance management, and SLA delivery.
• Coordinate with warehouse data-collection teams to ensure consistent capture protocols across sites and robot fleets.
• Partner with research, engineering, supply-chain, and site-operations teams to resolve bottlenecks and close data-quality feedback loops.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data operations, labeling operations, business or technical operations, or a similar high-volume operational pipeline role.
• Experience building and operating scalable processes involving data collection, annotation, labeling, or quality assurance.
• Experience managing vendor or BPO relationships and performance against SLAs.
• Strong ability to define KPIs, build reporting, and use metrics for operational decisions.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills with research, engineering, and operations stakeholders.
• Ownership, resourcefulness, and comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML data pipelines, data-labeling platforms, or model-evaluation workflows.
• Background in robotics, autonomy, warehouse operations, or supply-chain environments.
• Experience establishing or scaling a data-operations function from an early stage.
