Software Engineer 1 (React)

What you will do

• Build and ship features for the marketing website, including work on the Payload CMS platform.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team rituals.
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as part of the daily development workflow.
• Partner with the content team on CMS publishing, content structuring, and troubleshooting.
• Develop toward independent ownership through mentorship and guidance from senior engineers.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, with practical experience building React UI components.
• Familiarity with headless CMS architecture, including content models, fields, and blocks connected to a frontend.
• Working knowledge of REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including consuming and debugging API responses.
• Comfort with Git, branching, pull requests, and code review workflows.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design principles.
• Early-career profile with a dedicated, coachable, and thoughtful approach to engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with Payload CMS, Contentful, Sanity, or a similar headless CMS.
• Understanding of web performance and accessibility fundamentals.
• Genuine interest in AI-assisted development tools.
