Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs for the AI workspace platform.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for large-scale financial datasets.
• Productionize machine learning models with ML engineers and integrate them into backend systems.
• Improve database performance, distributed-system throughput, reliability, and uptime.
• Implement security controls and support compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and FCA requirements.
• Lead technical design reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to engineering standards and documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience building and scaling production systems.
• Expert Python experience with FastAPI or comparable frameworks such as Flask or Django.
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and database scaling.
• Experience with Redis, Celery or equivalent task queues, and message brokers such as Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automated testing, Git, and distributed-system debugging.
• Understanding of security, authentication, authorization, data encryption, and cross-functional collaboration; a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
