Controls Deployment Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Deploy, commission, and validate autonomous building technologies at live commercial sites.
• Survey building systems, inspect HVAC equipment and controls, and gather information for digital twin development.
• Test sensors, actuators, building controls, and equipment for reliable autonomous operation.
• Troubleshoot issues across mechanical equipment, controls, networking, and software.
• Support system startup, functional testing, and field deployment activities with engineering teams.
• Collect, organize, and validate building data for optimization and product improvement.

Requirements

• Proven commercial HVAC experience, including installation, surveying, testing, or commissioning in mechanical rooms.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and independent working skills.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, customers, and subcontractors.
• Comfort working onsite in mechanical environments, including ladders, tight or dark spaces, panels, and multimeter testing.
• Ability and willingness to troubleshoot problems from physical equipment through controls and software.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

• Dutch language skills.
• Building automation, controller programming, commissioning, point-to-point checkout, or sequence-of-operation validation experience.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi or similar edge-computing devices.
• Linux, command-line tools, Bash, Git, Docker or Podman, and systemd.
• SQL, GraphQL, databases, APIs, structured equipment data, building energy analysis, dashboards, or trend-based fault analysis.
