Vice President, Technology & Architecture (Software): Defining technology direction, end-to-end architecture, incubation, strategy, and advocacy for HP’s software and platform technology stacks with an accent on AI-native platforms, security, infrastructure, reliability, and engineering excellence. Focus on building scalable architecture blueprints, leading technology incubation through the HP CTO Lab, evaluating strategic technology ecosystems, and developing high-performing technology teams.
Location: Palo Alto, California, United States of America
Salary: $320,000–$350,000 USD annually, plus potential bonus and/or equity; compensation range applies to United States candidates.

What you will do
- Define technology direction, architecture, innovation roadmaps, and strategy for software and platform technologies.
- Lead end-to-end, full-stack architecture across platform and product software engineering.
- Develop architecture principles, target-state blueprints, and technology evolution and migration plans.
- Lead senior technologists and distinguished engineers across software, data and AI, security, infrastructure, and reliability engineering.
- Build technology incubation environments and deliver the CTO Lab for software and platform proofs of concept.
- Drive technology advocacy through thought leadership, industry engagement, hackathons, and Developer Day initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- Current or prior VP-level experience in technology or engineering within an established technology company.
- 15+ years of experience in technology, engineering, or related areas, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Experience building high-performing teams and leading technology architecture, strategy, and innovation in large, complex product or engineering environments.
- Experience delivering capabilities for products used by millions of customers or large-scale commercial businesses.
- Strong executive communication, collaboration, influence, and organizational leadership skills.
