Staff Systems Engineer - Atlas Humanoid Product (Robotics): Engineering sensing and compute architectures for a compact, safe, and reliable humanoid robot with an accent on systems requirements, architectural trade studies, performance engineering, and integration. Focus on tracing requirements and verification in Jama, coordinating cross-functional design reviews, managing risks, and driving issue closure for complex mechatronic systems.

What you will do
- Integrate advanced sensing and compute architectures into compact, robust humanoid robot platforms.
- Derive system requirements with Product, UI, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software teams.
- Define performance targets covering safety, reliability, robustness, user experience, cost, packaging, manufacturability, and functional attributes.
- Facilitate trade studies, DFMEAs, design reviews, and verification planning.
- Configure Jama and maintain traceability between requirements, verification plans, and results.
- Track requirements and verification progress, identify gaps, mitigate risks, and drive issue closure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of systems engineering experience with complex mechatronic systems.
- 5+ years of electronics technology development experience with PCBA and electromechanical product delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer, Software, Electrical, Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with electronics and electromechanical domains such as cameras, PCBAs, flex circuits, wire harnesses, connectors, radios, computers, microcontrollers, batteries, BMS, and chargers.
Nice to have
- Experience with mobile robotics, robotic manipulation, and perception sensing technologies.
- Requirements management expertise, especially with Jama, including authoring, reviewing, and approving requirements.
- Reliability and robustness engineering using boundary and parameter diagrams, DFMEA, DVP&R, root cause analysis, and statistical methods.
- Safety-critical system development or automotive manufacturing and assembly experience.
- Familiarity with Jama, Jira, Google Suite, Altium, Testrails, Python, Matlab, IEC 62368, IEC 60204, WiFi, cellular, and EMI compliance.
