Communications Manager

hirify.global is a high-growth deep-tech company and the first spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, dedicated to developing the world's first commercial stellarator fusion power plant.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day media engagement in Germany and internationally, serving as the primary point of contact for media inquiries.
• Develop executive messaging, opinion pieces, and interview briefings to position leadership as key voices in the fusion and industrial innovation space.
• Create and execute integrated communications campaigns that support company milestones, fundraising, and policy objectives.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with journalists across business, technology, and science media.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Public Policy teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Manage external agencies and specialist partners to maintain high standards of delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or PR, ideally within high-growth technology or startup environments.
• Native or fluent German and exceptional writing skills in both German and English.
• Strong network of relationships with German and international journalists.
• Proven track record of leading integrated communications campaigns from strategy to execution.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical and political topics into compelling narratives.

Nice to have

• Experience in deep tech, energy, or highly regulated industries.
• Background in political or policy communications.
• Experience supporting fundraising or investor relations.
