What you will do
- Develop and maintain OS-agnostic C APIs for physical network interfaces.
- Bring up and tune interfaces from 10 Mbit MII to 1G–25G Ethernet SerDes.
- Implement PCS and MAC functionality from a software-driver perspective.
- Develop PHY drivers for Ethernet standards including 1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-T1, and 10BASE-T1S.
- Contribute to Ethernet switch drivers, automated testing infrastructure, and test-platform maintenance.
- Write MISRA-compliant C code in line with ASPICE and automotive safety standards.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C and embedded software development.
- Experience with or strong interest in physical Ethernet layers, PHYs, and interface standards.
- Ability to investigate hardware-related issues using datasheets, specifications, registers, test equipment, and debugging tools.
- Experience in regulated environments with demanding safety, quality, and reliability requirements.
- Structured and analytical troubleshooting approach, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Five or more years of applicable experience, relevant technical education, and good written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Ethernet switch SoCs, PHYs, network interface drivers, or automotive and industrial Ethernet.
- Knowledge of IEEE 802.1Q, Layer 2 forwarding, Ethernet bring-up, link training, auto-negotiation, PCS, MAC, SerDes, or MDIO.
- Knowledge of Git, MISRA, ASPICE, ISO 26262, IEC 62443, Linux development, Ruby, CMake, continuous integration, or automated testing.
- Experience with standardization bodies, industry consortia, technical working groups, or responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
