TL;DR
Senior Machine Learning Engineer (E-commerce): Developing and productionising robust machine learning models for an e-commerce platform with an accent on statistical analysis, scalable data processing, and applied machine learning. Location: South Africa; remote or hybrid working model available.

What you will do
- Analyze, build, evaluate, and productionise machine learning models for e-commerce use cases.
- Work with large-scale customer data and address use cases across the business.
- Develop scalable data processing pipelines for machine learning workflows.
- Deploy and improve machine learning models in production environments.
- Collaborate through design and code reviews within a hands-on agile engineering team.
- Track developments in machine learning and contribute ideas to the development roadmap.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with relevant software engineering experience.
- 5–10+ years of experience applying machine learning to real-world problems or commercial software development.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, modeling, and machine learning techniques.
- Professional experience with Python, Linux, BigQuery, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and Pandas.
- Experience building scalable data processing pipelines, deploying machine learning systems to production, and working with data mining or big data.
- Experience working in an operationally hands-on agile team and strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- MSc or PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Kubeflow, TensorFlow Extended, MLflow, SageMaker Pipelines, or Vertex AI pipelines.
- Experience serving models with TensorFlow Serving, KServe, SageMaker Endpoints, or Vertex AI endpoints.
- Experience designing large-scale LLM prompt pipelines for classification and data extraction.
