Senior Software Engineer - IAM

Location: Remote-first from anywhere in Brazil, with the option to work from São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces up to twice a week.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and scale centralized Authentication and Authorization platforms.
• Solve engineering challenges involving scale, resilience, fault tolerance, and low latency.
• Define secure service-to-service and user-to-service communication practices with engineering, product, and security stakeholders.
• Own the full lifecycle of IAM products, from definition and development through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Participate in design and code reviews, reinforce software development practices, and mentor engineers.
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot incidents, debug issues, and create post-mortems.

Requirements

• Practical experience with IAM concepts, protocols, and standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, JWT, RBAC, or ABAC.
• Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Experience designing scalable software architecture and secure RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of Agile development, version control, testing, deployment automation, and design documentation.
• Understanding of database design, observability, monitoring, and performance tracking.
• Fluent Portuguese and advanced English are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with centralized Identity Providers, fine-grained authorization systems, Zanzibar-based models, or OPA.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, and native cloud IAM or security services.
• Knowledge of workload identity, mTLS, SPIFFE/SPIRE, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD security checks.
• Experience mentoring engineers and tuning highly concurrent, latency-sensitive distributed systems.
