Software Engineer (Intern) - Backend (Python)

Location: Bangalore, India; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python web frameworks.
• Develop data models and write efficient PostgreSQL queries, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Use Redis for caching and queues to improve service performance.
• Collaborate with frontend and QA engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
• Write tested and documented code, participate in code reviews, and debug existing services.
• Optimize backend systems for performance and scale while working with blockchain transaction datasets.

Requirements

• Final-year B.Tech, B.E., or Dual Degree student graduating in 2027.
• Student of an IIT, NIT, or IIIT, specializing in CSE, IT, or a closely related computer science branch.
• Strong Python and object-oriented programming fundamentals.
• Understanding of Django, FastAPI, or another Python web framework, plus REST API design principles.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and basic caching concepts with Redis.
• Strong problem-solving, data structures and algorithms, Git, and collaborative version-control skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Docker or other container technologies.
• Familiarity with Celery, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other message queues.
• Open-source contributions, personal projects, competitive programming, or prior internship experience.
• Curiosity about blockchain and crypto, or exposure to AI-assisted coding tools.
