Manager, Finance

What you will do

• Support month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting analyses.
• Maintain financial controls, governance, accounting policy compliance, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance across multiple Japan entities.
• Coordinate external audits and review financial statements, tax deliverables, and other outputs from advisers and service providers.
• Oversee financial governance for Japan capital expenditure programs, including asset classification, capitalisation, and construction-in-progress balances.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and regional stakeholders in Japan, Sydney, and Singapore on strategic projects, business expansion, and process improvement.
• Support new systems, scalable finance processes, financing-related reporting, and board reporting requirements.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, or financial control.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, internal controls, and financial governance.
• Experience reviewing complex accounting analyses and managing or auditing multiple legal entities, special purpose vehicles, funds, or corporate structures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels in a fast-paced, evolving environment while remaining hands-on.
• Fluency in both English and Japanese is required. CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in Big 4 audit, accounting advisory, transaction services, structured finance, real estate funds, or similar professional services.
• Experience with externally managed accounting, fund administration, or service-provider operating models.
• Experience in real estate, infrastructure, data centres, construction, or other capital-intensive industries.
• CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
