What you will do

• Define and lead DataLab's research strategy, roadmap, and priorities in alignment with product and company goals.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Leadership to identify research opportunities related to AI data quality, evaluation, and marketplace performance.
• Design and oversee experiments covering dataset quality, model performance, synthetic data workflows, and privacy-preserving methodologies.
• Build scalable systems for benchmarking, labeling quality analysis, and training-data evaluation across multiple AI modalities.
• Represent DataLab in customer, partner, sales, delivery, and technical discovery conversations.
• Lead and scale a high-performing team of researchers and data scientists while establishing rigorous, reproducible research operations.

Requirements

• Experience leading impactful research initiatives in AI, machine learning, data infrastructure, or applied research environments.
• Experience building and managing autonomous, high-performing research teams.
• Experience developing frameworks for model-performance evaluation, dataset quality, synthetic data, or large-scale experimentation.
• Experience with modern AI systems, foundation models, LLM evaluation workflows, or privacy-centric data methodologies.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ownership of cross-functional initiatives and the ability to translate research into practical systems, tools, or customer impact.
