What you will do

  • Lead the design and execution of critical mechanical systems and components for scalable, manufacturable nuclear power plants.
  • Develop concepts, detailed CAD models, complex mechanical assemblies, and rapid prototypes.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analyses using FEA and CFD tools.
  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems into cohesive plant-level solutions.
  • Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing with internal and external partners.
  • Develop tooling and manufacturing aids while optimizing designs for cost, scalability, manufacturability, and deployment speed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on mechanical design and analysis experience in high-growth, high-urgency environments.
  • Deep proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Expertise with FEA and CFD software such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Nastran, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of materials science, stress analysis, and thermal and fluid systems.
  • Ability to turn concepts into tested prototypes quickly, communicate effectively, and own complex problems end-to-end.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a startup or advanced manufacturing environment.
