Head of Talent (AI)

Location: South San Francisco, United States. On-site position.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 estimated base salary per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead full-cycle recruiting across business, scientific, and engineering roles, from talent profiles and sourcing through interviews, offers, and closing.
• Develop outbound sourcing strategies and build relationships with technology companies, research labs, biotech organizations, and academic institutions.
• Establish recruiting operations, including role calibration, structured interview loops, evaluation rubrics, interviewer training, ATS ownership, and reporting.
• Partner with founders and hiring managers to maintain consistent hiring standards and improve candidate experience.
• Build the employer brand and use AI, automation, recruiters, agencies, tools, and programs to scale the talent function.

Requirements

• At least five years of recruiting experience in a high-bar, fast-moving environment.
• Track record of personally sourcing and closing business, scientific, and engineering talent.
• Experience creating recruiting processes, interview systems, tooling, or employer-brand programs at an early-stage company.
• Strong judgment, communication, partnership skills, and ability to learn unfamiliar domains quickly.
• High ownership and practical experience using AI, automation, and modern recruiting tools.
