What you will do
- Design, develop, debug, and integrate HAL, diagnostic, and validation firmware for high-performance SSD controller SoCs.
- Develop and maintain platform firmware across virtual platforms, RTL simulation, emulation systems, FPGA prototypes, and ASIC validation platforms.
- Implement reusable HAL APIs, drivers, and test infrastructure for PCIe, DDR, NAND/FIM, DMA, cache, and backend subsystems.
- Evaluate hardware architectures and optimize firmware for performance, power consumption, latency, and system reliability.
- Perform root-cause analysis of complex hardware, firmware, and system-level issues with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Collaborate with FPGA and emulation platform engineers to accelerate silicon validation and SSD product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of experience in embedded firmware, SSD/storage systems, ASIC validation, or platform software development.
- Expert-level C programming and embedded software development experience, including at least 3 years of embedded firmware development.
- Hands-on experience with JTAG-based debugging, hardware-assisted debug tools, RISC-based processors, and ARM, ARC, RISC-V, or equivalent architectures.
- Knowledge of bootloaders, initialization flows, HAL, platform firmware architecture, and development across simulation, emulation, FPGA, and silicon environments.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate complex technical information in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with SSD controllers, storage systems, PCIe, NVMe, NAND Flash, or memory subsystems.
- Knowledge of Toggle, ONFI, SCA, or emerging Flash interfaces.
- Experience with ASIC verification, RTL simulation, FPGA prototyping, emulation, or post-silicon validation.
- Working knowledge of digital design, Verilog/SystemVerilog, and hardware verification concepts.
- Experience with protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, lab instruments, or AI-powered engineering tools.
