Staff Software Engineer, Product (AI)

Location: Remote or hybrid from offices in New York or Toronto; valid travel documents without work authorization restrictions in the US required. Collaboration with colleagues in UK time zones is required.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and optimize full-stack product features across backend services, AI model integrations, and frontend interfaces.
• Design resilient APIs and server-side systems for enterprise-scale performance, security, and reliability.
• Build responsive, accessible, and high-performance user experiences with effective frontend-backend data flows.
• Own delivery from requirements scoping and testing through deployment, monitoring, and production observability.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, operations, and infrastructure teams to solve user problems.
• Shape engineering standards, CI/CD automation, performance benchmarking, hiring, and technical direction while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience shipping production-grade full-stack systems and owning APIs and user experiences end to end.
• Deep proficiency with Python, preferably Django, or a comparable backend language.
• Strong JavaScript skills and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Experience building responsive, usable, accessible, and high-performance interfaces.
• Ability to design for scale, performance, security, maintainability, and distributed enterprise environments.
• Valid travel documents and no US work authorization restrictions required; comfort collaborating across UK time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise AI implementations, LLMs, machine learning, or natural language processing.
• Experience in startup environments and rapidly prototyping and iterating on products.
