Director, Business Operations (AI): Leading Pelago's shift to an AI-native operating model, governing KPIs and OKRs, and driving strategic cross-functional initiatives with an accent on AI workflow design, business analysis, and operating model development. Focus on managing the Archie AI agent platform, structuring high-stakes decision frameworks, diagnosing organizational complexity, and influencing leaders without formal authority.
Location: New York, NY; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the NYC office
Salary: $200,000–$220,000 USD base pay range

What you will do
- Lead 's transition to an AI-native operating model and act as the internal product manager for the Archie AI agent platform.
- Define AI use cases, manage the cross-functional roadmap, measure impact, and build repeatable AI-powered workflows.
- Own KPI and OKR governance and establish accountability structures without unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Structure analytical frameworks for high-stakes decisions, including dashboards, scenario analyses, and business cases.
- Lead strategic projects from framing through execution, especially initiatives spanning multiple functions.
- Diagnose root causes in complex or underperforming areas and drive resolution through influence and cross-functional relationships.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a high-bar business operations role at a growth-stage company.
- Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations.
- Strong systems thinking, business acumen, financial understanding, and ability to design operating models from scratch.
- Experience structuring and running analyses with SQL and business intelligence tools.
- Advanced use of AI, including prompt engineering and building AI-driven workflows across teams.
- Exceptional communication and ability to influence leaders and teams without formal authority.
