IT Infrastructure Engineer (Azure/AWS): Designing and maintaining secure cloud and on-premise infrastructure for mission-critical defense technology systems with an accent on automation, virtualization, monitoring, and disaster recovery. Location: Torrance, California, United States
Salary: $112,500–$157,500 USD annually, plus equity grants as part of total compensation.

What you will do
- Design and operate secure hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure using Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS.
- Partner with Security on SIEM operations, NIST 800-171 compliance evidence, security tooling integration, and IT-side controls.
- Build monitoring, alerting, patching, and infrastructure management capabilities for high availability and rapid incident response.
- Provide advanced L3/L4 support for bare-metal servers, Linux environments, SQL Server, and mission-critical systems.
- Develop automated backups and support disaster recovery and business continuity through failover planning, validation, and recovery testing.
- Administer Hyper-V and VMware environments, including clustering, replication, high availability, migrations, and upgrades.
Requirements
- Experience in a defense technology startup or fast-paced, high-growth technology company.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, PowerShell automation, and hybrid on-premise/cloud environments.
- Experience preparing for or operating under NIST 800-171, CMMC, or similar defense compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, segmented network architectures, virtualization, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with SQL Server administration, performance tuning, maintenance plans, and access management.
- Hands-on SIEM implementation or tuning experience with tools such as Splunk or Sentinel is strongly valued.
