Principal NPI Planner (ASIC)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year, depending on experience, level, and business need; discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Lead NPI planning for ASIC products from engineering builds through release-to-manufacturing and production ramp readiness.
• Build and maintain product schedules covering milestones, material readiness, build plans, and customer delivery requirements.
• Execute NPI material planning through ERP and planning systems, including inventory tracking, purchase orders, and related transactions.
• Coordinate demand, supply, materials, WIP, finished goods, and build execution with engineering, operations, procurement, finance, OSATs, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Identify launch risks, capacity gaps, and execution roadblocks, then drive cross-functional mitigation plans.
• Prepare status updates, risk assessments, escalation materials, and transition plans for sustaining or high-volume manufacturing planners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in NPI planning, supply chain planning, production planning, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience in semiconductor, fabless, OSAT, EMS, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of supply-demand planning, material planning, inventory management, and supplier or factory coordination.
• Experience managing detailed schedules across multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills, hands-on ERP or MRP experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ASIC or other semiconductor new product introductions.
• Familiarity with wafer, assembly, test, substrate, or hardware readiness planning.
• Experience working with global suppliers or manufacturing partners in Asia.
• Experience with reporting, dashboards, or data analysis for planning visibility and execution.
