Senior/Lead Mobile Engineer (iOS/React Native)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; on-site. Office attendance is the default, with flexibility when needed.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and implementation of core features for the hirify.global mobile app, including deep native iOS integrations and components.
• Collaborate with React frontend engineers to deliver a seamless and performant native mobile experience.
• Partner with Design and Product to make trade-offs and ship high-impact mobile features quickly.
• Drive performance optimization, including responsiveness, battery efficiency, and measurable mobile performance metrics.
• Build resilient flows and graceful error handling for real-world field conditions.
• Evolve mobile design systems and UI patterns while raising engineering standards through reviews, pairing, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in native iOS development and mobile architecture.
• Experience with React Native and its mapping to the iOS platform.
• Experience releasing complex, high-performance native iOS applications through the App Store at scale.
• Strong understanding of performance, accessibility, testing, and maintainability.
• Experience with design systems and mentoring mobile engineers.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
