TL;DR
Technical Program Manager (Missile Defense) (Space Defense/Hardware): Leading end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery for a complex missile defense system with an accent on cross-functional program execution, technical planning, risk management, and system reliability. Focus on managing engineering, production, security, and program-office dependencies, tracking execution metrics, and driving delivery decisions in a high-ambiguity environment.
Location: Long Beach, California; Washington, DC; or Denver, Colorado. This is an onsite role.
Base salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of program sprints for the missile defense program.
- Define delivery plans, manage scope and milestones, and drive accountability across engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Translate product requirements into actionable technical plans aligned with engineering architecture and mission needs.
- Manage cross-team dependencies across engineering, production, security, and the program office.
- Track program health using velocity, predictability, defect trends, release readiness, and dashboard metrics.
- Identify risks, tradeoffs, and blockers; escalate issues and recommend decisions when schedule, scope, or resources are misaligned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of program management experience in relevant technical fields.
- Strong technical understanding of space defense systems, such as satellites, missiles, rockets, or engines.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other software tracking tools.
- Deep familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban processes.
- Experience working on classified Department of War programs or a relevant background.
- Secret Clearance required; TS/SCI preferred. Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
Nice to have
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Background in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- PMP or Agile certification.
