TL;DR
Senior Engineers (AI/IoT) (Frontend, Backend, Full Stack, or Platform): Building end-to-end software for a connected livestock-management system combining hardware, software, and AI with an accent on real-time sensor data, constrained hardware, and unreliable rural connectivity. Focus on designing scalable services and platforms, delivering reliable web and mobile experiences, and improving system performance in production environments.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand; on-site with an office-first default

What you will do
- Design, build, and deliver features and systems end to end across farmer-facing web and mobile experiences, backend services, and infrastructure.
- Make architectural decisions and implement them in production code.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and product to ship high-impact features quickly.
- Support and mentor engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Own service reliability and performance, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Build domain knowledge by spending time on farms and understanding real-world operating conditions.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience designing and delivering complex production systems.
- Product engineering mindset with strong attention to customer experience.
- Experience using AI tools to improve engineering output.
- Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and cloud environments.
- Ability to work from the Auckland office under ’s office-first working model.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS.
- A degree in software engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Frontend or mobile experience with React or React Native, including UX and real-device performance.
- Backend experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven services, relational and non-relational databases, Node, Kotlin, Go, or hardware/IoT integrations.
- Platform experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, on-call tooling, and AI engineering tools.
