What you will do
- Lead the US steel sourcing team and define sourcing strategies aligned with business growth, risk mitigation, and competitive positioning.
- Own total cost of ownership, spend performance, and cost targets across US steel parts and raw materials.
- Develop sourcing plans across mills, processors, and service centers to balance cost, capacity, lead time, supply continuity, and geographic risk.
- Negotiate and manage long-term Master Supply Agreements and commercial frameworks with key suppliers.
- Build a resilient supplier base by qualifying suppliers and driving performance across cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Present market intelligence, sourcing strategy, and performance updates to senior management and executive leadership.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in sourcing or strategic category management; steel or metals experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Advanced negotiation skills and a strong understanding of US commercial contracts.
- Required background in manufacturing and logistics.
- Ability to lead multicultural teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate sourcing strategies at the executive level.
- Strong skills in total cost of ownership modeling, should-cost analysis, supplier performance analytics, contracts, risk, and compliance.
Nice to have
- Experience in contract manufacturing, renewable energy, solar, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Exposure to US and international steel trade.
- Availability to travel approximately 30%.
