Analog IC Design Engineer (High-Speed)

Salary: $165,000–$245,000 USD annually, plus equity grants and additional rewards

What you will do

• Support chip micro-architecture development through feasibility studies with architects.
• Define electrical requirements with system, digital, analog, and photonics engineering teams.
• Design analog and mixed-signal transceiver blocks, including broadband circuits interfacing with silicon photonics.
• Document simulations and verification results for formal design reviews.
• Drive block-level floorplans, mask design views, and design reviews.
• Run post-layout and mixed-signal top-level simulations, define test plans, and validate circuit performance in the lab.

Requirements

• MS with 6+ years of industry experience or Ph.D. with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience designing GHz-speed RF or GHz-speed broadband analog circuits.
• Experience with Tx/Rx equalization techniques and circuits, plus familiarity with SERDES architectures and implementations.
• Strong understanding of CMOS devices, noise, linearity, high-frequency circuit theory, and design trade-offs.
• Experience with Cadence Design Environment.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple functional areas and comply with federally mandated U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience designing analog front-end transceiver blocks such as trans-impedance amplifiers and Tx drivers.
• Knowledge of 3D electromagnetic simulation tools.
• Experience testing and validating high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits.
• Experience interfacing with silicon photonic modulators such as MZM and Ring.
• Track record of delivering analog and mixed-signal IP on the first attempt while meeting tight schedules.
