Engineering Director, Agentic Platform (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: $160,000–$220,000 CAD annually plus variable bonus

What you will do

• Lead delivery, quality, and operations across five engineering cells covering cloud infrastructure, data, AI infrastructure, extensions and integrations, and shared services.
• Own the Platform Control Plane, Platform Service Layer, and deployment and tenancy options across dedicated, regulated, shared multi-tenant, and sovereign cloud environments.
• Complete the transition to Azure, including the analytics platform on Microsoft Fabric, and retire legacy Windows-era infrastructure.
• Bring the AI Agentic Platform to production grade with multi-tenancy, compliant pipelines, and a cloud-native foundation for AI applications.
• Automate provisioning, upgrades, environment management, and production support while improving SLA reliability and Tier 1 handoffs.
• Scale AI-powered migration of customer extensions, build self-service environments and partner APIs, and shape the 2027–2029 technology roadmap.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience building and operating production software, including 5+ years leading platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering organizations.
• Experience running Azure and/or AWS platforms with enterprise SLAs and owning operational readiness.
• Fluency in modern data platforms, including Fabric, lakehouse architectures, and embedded BI.
• Experience running LLM-based systems in production, including pipelines, evaluation, cost management, and compliance.
• Track record of delivering committed scope across multiple teams and building strong engineering leadership succession.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executives and engineers, from risk discussions to design reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with critical infrastructure, utilities, or other regulated industries.
• Experience migrating installed enterprise products from legacy systems to cloud-native platforms.
• Experience running an internal platform as a product with adoption metrics.
