Senior Developer Experience Writer (AI)

Location: London, UK (remote-first with monthly in-person meetings for UK-based teams)

What you will do

• Write reusable AI prompts and skills that help contributors produce high-quality developer documentation.
• Define and maintain standards for documentation structure, style, technical accuracy, and developer usability.
• Create educational content templates and reference materials for engineering contributors.
• Coach engineers and provide feedback to improve technical writing quality.
• Promote effective AI use while identifying AI-generated patterns that reduce clarity or trust.
• Shape the documentation platform, including its components, information structure, navigation, and tooling.

Requirements

• Proven experience creating technical content for developers, including documentation, API references, and guides.
• Experience reviewing technical writing and coaching others to improve their work.
• Experience using AI tools for writing, research, and coding, with an understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
• Familiarity with APIs, SDKs, and modern web development tools, with the ability to read and write code examples in at least one programming language, ideally JavaScript.
• Strong developer experience instincts, especially around onboarding, plus a proactive and self-directed approach.
• Experience in a startup or growth-stage company, or the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining or shaping a documentation platform or developer portal.
• Knowledge of information architecture and content strategy.
• Familiarity with Git-driven content workflows.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture.
