TL;DR
Junior/Intermediate Engineers (IoT): Building end-to-end software across farmer-facing web and mobile experiences, backend services, platforms, and hardware-connected systems with an accent on real-time sensor data, constrained hardware, and unreliable rural connectivity. Focus on designing production systems, scaling event-driven platforms, improving reliability and performance, and using AI tools to increase engineering output.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand; on-site with office-first attendance as the default

What you will do
- Design, build, and deliver end-to-end features and systems across farmer-facing web and mobile products, backend services, and infrastructure.
- Make architectural decisions and implement the supporting code.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and product to ship high-impact features.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Own service reliability and performance, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Develop domain knowledge by spending time on farms and understanding real-world operating conditions.
Requirements
- Experience designing and delivering complex production systems.
- A product-engineering mindset with attention to customer experience.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively to improve engineering output.
- Experience supporting and collaborating with other engineers.
- Comfort working in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
- Experience with cloud environments; AWS experience is a bonus.
Nice to have
- Software engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Frontend or mobile experience with modern frameworks such as React or React Native.
- Backend experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven services, and relational or non-relational databases.
- Experience with Node, Kotlin, Go, or hardware and IoT integrations.
- Platform experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, and on-call tooling.
