Security Analyst Intern (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Monitor networks, analyze logs, correlate security events, and investigate breaches or policy violations.
• Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, document findings, and support mitigation efforts.
• Develop security standards, best practices, and employee security awareness training.
• Assist with incident response and forensic analysis.
• Integrate security controls and automated testing tools into CI/CD pipelines and the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to resolve vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in information security or a related IT role, plus 2+ years with DevOps or DevSecOps practices.
• Knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, IDPS, vulnerability assessment techniques, and security frameworks including ISO 27001/27002, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, identity federation using OIDC and SAML, and SSO configuration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Python, Bash, or PowerShell; Git; Docker or Kubernetes; CI/CD tools; and infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CISM certification.
