Engineering Director (Fintech)

What you will do

• Define technical strategy and translate company goals into actionable engineering roadmaps.
• Drive large-scale architectural decisions, scalability, and engineering best practices.
• Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers and high-performing engineering teams.
• Recruit engineering talent and foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• Partner with product, design, data, and business leaders to align technology decisions with customer and business impact.
• Manage strategic projects, risks, timelines, resources, and cross-team organizational bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with significant experience in senior engineering leadership.
• Experience defining and executing technical strategy at scale, including engineering roadmaps and architectural direction.
• Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations, including hiring, developing, and retaining engineering managers.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and executive-level influence across product, design, data, and business teams.
• Deep understanding of engineering culture, best practices, team autonomy, and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Entrepreneurial experience or experience in established organizations.
• Familiarity with Ruby/Rails, TypeScript, React, Node, Kotlin, Swift, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Snowflake.
