Payment Operations Specialist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and implement systems to optimize, automate, and scale operational workloads using Retool, SQL, Python, and Javascript.
• Operate and improve end-to-end payment processes, including ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, and checks.
• Manage the payment operations queue by triaging and resolving customer and external bank inquiries.
• Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards to track operational health.
• Partner with Engineering, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure compliant resolution of issues.
• Document processes and playbooks to support onboarding and future scaling.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco, CA (3+ days/week in-person required).
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Lightweight technical skills in SQL, Javascript, and Python.
• Familiarity with NACHA operating rules, wire transfer standards, and payment processing concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
