Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Rijeka, Croatia; flexible hybrid work model

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot services on the Email platform.
• Own the code produced and write clean, well-designed, testable, and scalable software.
• Understand interactions and dependencies across a large microservices architecture.
• Work primarily on backend development while growing toward full-stack development, system design, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Product Management within Scrum and LeSS, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the engineering community and continuously expand technical knowledge.

Requirements

• Experience as a software engineering professional and readiness for a high-growth challenge.
• Good knowledge of object-oriented principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with concurrent and multi-tier applications.
• Understanding of code review, code testing, and RESTful services.
• Ability to work in the Rijeka, Croatia hybrid setup.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, or Canary.
• Understanding of MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar data technologies.
• Experience with JavaScript, React, Angular, Node, Kotlin, Python, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, or similar collaboration tools.
