TL;DR
Lead Integrations & AI Engineer (Workday) (Workday HCM integrations and AI automation): Designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting secure integrations across Workday HCM, internal systems, vendors, and enterprise platforms with an accent on Workday Studio, APIs, iPaaS orchestration, and data security. Focus on leading integration architecture, building API-based AI workflows, and improving production observability, resiliency, and support.
Location: Madrid Office, hybrid
Salary: €60,000–€80,000 estimated base salary per year; equity and bonus offered

What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday HCM integrations.
- Translate HR, talent acquisition, and HCM Systems requirements into technical designs and data flows.
- Build integrations with Workday Studio, EIBs, connectors, reports-as-a-service, web services, orchestration, and document transformations.
- Develop REST and SOAP API integrations using JSON, XML, XSLT, and GraphQL where appropriate.
- Use Workato and other integration platforms to orchestrate workflows across Workday and adjacent systems.
- Own troubleshooting, monitoring, root-cause analysis, production support, release-impact analysis, documentation, and operational improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday integration development experience focused on Workday HCM.
- Experience leading integration initiatives from requirements through post-production support.
- Deep expertise with Workday Studio, EIBs, web services, Core Connectors, custom reports, Integration Security Groups, and document transformations.
- Strong experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and API-based integration patterns.
- Experience with iPaaS technologies, preferably Workato or a comparable platform.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM processes and data domains, communication skills, analytical problem-solving, data quality, security, and reliability.
Nice to have
- Experience building AI-enabled workflows and integrating AI services into business processes.
- Experience with Claude Code, command-line tooling, or developer productivity automation.
- Experience with Workday Orchestrate for Integrations, Workday Extend, Workday Security, BIRT, or automated integration testing.
- Experience supporting global or multi-country HCM environments.
- Workday Integration or Workday Studio certification.
