TL;DR
Legal Associate (Fintech): Supporting Clara’s Mexican entity through commercial contracts, corporate documentation, regulatory communications, and compliance with data protection and AML frameworks with an accent on Mexican financial regulation and operational legal work. Focus on drafting and reviewing agreements, managing deadlines with CNBV and Banxico, responding to administrative requests, and aligning local execution with LatAm legal standards.
Location: Mexico City, Mexico — hybrid work model with expected office presence, especially during ramp-up or when required by the leader

What you will do
- Draft, review, and organize commercial contracts, NDAs, and corporate documentation.
- Provide legal support to Sales, Finance, Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
- Support compliance with Mexican data protection regulations, including LFPDPPP, and AML frameworks.
- Manage communications and deadlines with regulatory bodies such as CNBV and Banxico, with support from senior counsel.
- Assist with administrative requests, extrajudicial notifications, and potential investigations by local authorities.
- Maintain legal files and records and collaborate with the global Legal team on LatAm standards and local execution.
Requirements
- Law degree and valid license to practice in Mexico.
- 1–3 years of experience in corporate, commercial, or financial law.
- Working proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Experience or interest in AI tools for workflow automation and document management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and ownership of deliverables.
- Experience in a high-growth fintech environment or similar fast-changing setting.
Nice to have
- Experience in a startup, fintech, or technology company.
- Familiarity with Mexican financial regulation and AML laws.
- Basic Portuguese proficiency or willingness to learn it.
- Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets.
