TL;DR
Backend Software Engineer (Golang/gRPC): Building resilient and scalable Accounts microservices for a digital healthcare platform with an accent on distributed systems, data security, observability, and user experience. Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week in the office
Salary: $158,400–$237,600 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits

What you will do
- Build and deliver scalable Accounts product capabilities using Golang and gRPC-based microservices.
- Lead large production projects, maintain key repositories, and break complex problems into predictable delivery plans.
- Identify and resolve incident root causes while improving maintainability, availability, performance, architecture, and developer tooling.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers on technical roadmaps and product experiences.
- Integrate AI technologies to automate processes and enhance AI-driven care features.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, onboarding, and pairing, while documenting technical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience, including 2+ years with a programming language and the full software development life cycle.
- Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Golang, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience delivering large software projects or production features.
- Practical knowledge of cloud services and technologies such as gRPC, protobufs, Temporal, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Experience with AI-assisted software design or coding, distributed systems, scalable architectures, data ingestion, integration, or security.
Nice to have
- Experience mentoring or onboarding junior engineers.
- Experience with healthcare technology or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
