Staff Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid position based at the Plano, Texas headquarters; in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday each week. Candidates must already have the right to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Own assigned month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, fixed assets, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Reconcile high-volume cash and settlement activity across banking partners, payment rails, billing, recognized revenue, and cash collections.
• Own revenue close activities, including transaction-level revenue capture, partner revenue share, deferred revenue schedules, and revenue recognition analysis.
• Execute close tasks in FloQast and prepare complete supporting documentation, audit schedules, and workpapers.
• Document processes, identify control gaps and manual workarounds, and improve workflows across Workday Financials and related finance tools.
• Partner with Payment Operations, Product, Engineering, FP&A, business partners, leadership, and external auditors.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, a high-growth private company, or both.
• End-to-end ownership of month-end close areas, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance explanations.
• Experience with high-volume balance sheet accounts, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and billing-to-revenue reconciliation.
• Experience supporting external audits and preparing schedules and auditor responses.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience improving manual, undocumented, or unreliable processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; must already possess US work authorization without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or active progress toward a CPA.
• Experience in fintech, payments, payroll, complex money movement, or multi-party settlement.
• Experience with Workday Financials, NetSuite, FloQast, BlackLine, or comparable tools.
• Experience reconciling multiple banking partners, processors, or payment rails.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with SQL or BI tools for high-volume data validation.
