What you will do
- Model human experience by turning multimodal, body-worn data into representations for robot learning.
- Solve cross-embodiment transfer to translate human motion into action spaces for robots with different physical bodies.
- Design pretraining and fine-tuning strategies for robotic foundation models.
- Build benchmarks to evaluate model generalization beyond simple mimicry.
- Define requirements for data capturing devices based on model performance and blind spots.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and systems engineering teams.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a comparable field.
- Hands-on experience with multimodal foundation models such as VLA or video-action models.
- Experience with cross-embodiment transfer and RL-based retargeting.
- Deep understanding of low-level robotics control.
- Strong grounding in imitation learning, representation learning, and self-supervised learning.
- Fluent English required; German is a plus.
Nice to have
- Fluency in German.
