Data Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Porto, Portugal or Munich, Germany. Hybrid office environment with home-office flexibility and a relocation allowance and adaptation program.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, deploy, and optimise scalable ETL and data ingestion pipelines with Databricks and PySpark.
• Configure and support Snowplow event tracking and data collection for analytics and reporting.
• Develop data transformations and semantic models with SQL and dbt to enable trusted self-service analytics.
• Collaborate with software engineers and business stakeholders to define data requirements and improve data quality.
• Support integrations across the data platform, including APIs and PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DuckDB databases.
• Monitor pipeline performance, share best practices, mentor colleagues, and evaluate technologies for the data platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience as a Data Engineer building ETL and data ingestion pipelines.
• Strong experience with Databricks, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience with Snowplow for event tracking and analytics data collection.
• Exposure to at least one of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DuckDB.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt for data transformation.
• Interest in mentoring colleagues and contributing to a data-driven culture.
