Senior Accountant

Location: San Francisco, United States. Hybrid role with office attendance typically expected 3 days per week.

Salary: $115,200–$172,800 annual salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own key parts of the Order-to-Cash cycle, including bookings, deferred revenue, contract assets, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare recurring journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and monthly revenue analyses.
• Support the month-end close and accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, and cross-functional stakeholders on revenue reporting and ad hoc analyses.
• Contribute to GAAP-compliant financial statements, disclosures, and external audit support.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, policies, procedures, and controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close responsibilities.
• Strong foundation in US GAAP and corporate accounting.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets, including lookups, pivots, complex formulas, reconciliations, and large data sets.
• Clear, proactive communication and the ability to translate accounting concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize recurring close responsibilities and new projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Excel, SQL, or BI tools for large-scale data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
• Experience in a publicly listed company or SaaS environment with complex and multi-element revenue arrangements.
• CPA designation, active pursuit of CPA eligibility, or prior public accounting experience.
• Experience driving process improvements or automation in accounting or finance operations.
