Senior Mobile Engineer

Location: Hybrid in London Bridge, London, UK; candidates should be within commuting distance of the London office.

hirify.global builds connected fitness hardware and software, including the hirify.global Game and mobile Companion App.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable mobile code.
• Work across Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, and Swift codebases, including the hirify.global Companion App and cross-platform game code.
• Develop connectivity for hirify.global and third-party peripherals such as trainers, power sensors, cadence sensors, and heart-rate monitors.
• Collaborate through code reviews, technical discussions, pair programming, and cross-functional decision-making.
• Advise product and engineering leadership on system capabilities, constraints, and technical approaches.
• Contribute to technical planning and iterative engineering strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Mobile Engineer.
• Working knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Swift, and Objective-C.
• Proficiency in Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform, with experience contributing to a shared Native + KMP solution.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience facilitating collaboration among cross-functional partners and making technical trade-offs across short- and long-term impact.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement within commuting distance of the London office.

Nice to have

• Expertise with mobile-native Bluetooth SDKs.
• Experience with the Android Open Source Project.
• Backend services development experience.
• Knowledge of gRPC and Protobuf, or working knowledge of C++.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and interest in fitness, wellness, or gaming.
