Principal Product Designer (AI)

Location: Must reside near Austin, Texas, or Reston, Virginia, and work three days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Own discovery, design, delivery, and iteration across major product areas.
• Define information architecture, interaction patterns, and reusable UX frameworks for complex enterprise AI workflows.
• Lead research with technical and non-technical users, translating findings into UX strategy and validated product direction.
• Use AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to accelerate ideation and interactive prototype development.
• Extend the hirify.global design system in Figma for new platform capabilities and enterprise use cases.
• Shape roadmap tradeoffs and technical constraints with Product and Engineering while providing documentation and implementation-ready prototypes.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of product design experience on complex SaaS or technical platform products.
• Experience defining direction for ambiguous problems, designing complex workflows, information architecture, and scalable interaction frameworks.
• Advanced Figma proficiency, including experience evolving shared design systems.
• Active professional use of AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
• Experience leading discovery research, usability testing, design reviews, critique, and mentorship.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. government authorizations is required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for AI/ML engineers, developers, data scientists, or MLOps practitioners.
• Familiarity with model evaluation, benchmarking, bias and reliability testing, LLMs, RAG, agents, or MLOps platforms.
• Experience with governance, compliance, access controls, administration, multi-tenant systems, data visualization, analytics dashboards, or real-time monitoring.
• Experience in high-growth startups or early-stage platform products.
