TL;DR
Senior Engineer - Controls (Industrial Automation): Designing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical and control systems for highly automated and regulated manufacturing with an accent on PLC programming, equipment reliability, and process robustness. Focus on debugging automation systems, analyzing equipment data with Ignition, executing machine improvement projects, and implementing software change control.
Location: Onsite in Kaunas, Lithuania
Salary: €2,700–€4,100 gross per month, based on competencies and experience

What you will do
- Troubleshoot equipment and controls issues, implement corrective actions, and recommend preventive measures.
- Lead and participate in machine improvement, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement projects.
- Develop, modify, debug, document, and back up PLC programs.
- Commission, test, and optimize automated equipment while managing software change control.
- Analyze automated equipment data with tools such as Ignition to identify performance and predictive insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, provide technical training, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years of related engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience commissioning, debugging, and optimizing automated equipment.
- Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, or B&R.
- Experience with industrial networks, including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profibus, and RS-485.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Availability to work onsite in Kaunas, Lithuania and support out-of-hours activities when required.
Nice to have
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronic, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with robotics, servo motion systems, machine vision, automation safety systems, and SCADA.
- Familiarity with Ignition and formal project engineering or project management methodologies.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
