Principal Product Designer (Presence)

Location: Remote within the United States; offices are available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago.

Salary: $223,600–$313,000 USD annually, plus potential equity and, depending on the position offered, commission.

What you will do

• Define the UX architecture for Presence across profiles, identity, business tools, community context, discovery, and new product surfaces.
• Translate company priorities into multi-year experience strategies, decision frameworks, and sequenced product paths.
• Create shared models, interaction patterns, navigation approaches, and experience principles for multiple teams.
• Resolve overlaps, gaps, and conflicting approaches to prevent fragmented experiences and duplicated investments.
• Influence product direction and planning with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, Content Design, and Design leadership.
• Lead UX framing for high-stakes ecosystem decisions, use AI-assisted tools to prototype concepts, and mentor senior designers.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of product design experience, including platform-scale or ecosystem-level initiatives across multiple consumer technology product areas.
• Principal-level portfolio demonstrating product vision, systems architecture, interaction design, executive influence, end-to-end coherence, and measurable impact.
• Experience defining foundational product architecture, shared interaction models, or platform strategies adopted by multiple teams.
• Ability to influence product priorities and executive decisions without direct authority.
• Expertise in interaction design and information architecture, with strong understanding of research, data, experimentation, accessibility, and technical constraints.
• Fluency with AI-assisted design and coding workflows, plus exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
