Full Stack Engineer (Kafka) (Maritime Data Platform): Building and operating backend services, scalable APIs, real-time Kafka streams, and Snowflake data pipelines for maritime data distribution with an accent on event streaming, production operations, and system observability. Focus on designing resilient microservices, monitoring distributed streaming systems, and solving reliability and performance challenges across deployment and production environments.

What you will do
- Own backend services, streaming applications, APIs, and data pipelines from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and production operation.
- Build real-time stream-processing applications with Java, Scala, Kafka Streams, or Apache Flink.
- Design and maintain scalable APIs using TypeScript, Java, and PHP.
- Develop pipelines that consume Kafka topics and persist data in Snowflake and other target datastores.
- Monitor throughput, consumer lag, errors, and system health; investigate incidents and implement preventive improvements.
- Contribute to code reviews, reduce technical debt, share knowledge, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional experience building APIs and backend microservices with Java, TypeScript, PHP, or Scala.
- Professional experience building and operating data pipelines or stream-processing applications.
- Hands-on experience with production monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and incident investigation.
- Working knowledge of AWS, including IAM and S3, and experience running containerized services in Kubernetes with GitOps-style workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Fluent English communication and strong Agile collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, or pipelines connecting Kafka topics with multiple datastores.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development and distributed-system observability using metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
