Security Design Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester or Bristol, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office

Salary: £72,702–£85,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and design secure solutions across a broad range of computing platforms.
• Produce and present Security Designs documenting appropriate controls.
• Deconstruct solution and network architectures to assess their security.
• Identify and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities using practices such as STRIDE and MITRE.
• Translate threats into business risks and support likelihood and impact assessments.
• Communicate technical security concepts and evaluate competing design options across multiple projects.

Requirements

• Experience designing secure solutions and documenting security controls.
• Ability to analyse solution and network architectures.
• Ability to assess threats, vulnerabilities, risks, and the soundness of proposed solutions.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Awareness of ISO 27000, PCI DSS, COBIT, NIST, or OWASP standards.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience with public or private cloud environments.
