Head of Material Planning (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead the Material Planning and Inventory Management team and promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain material availability for uninterrupted automotive production and anticipate supply risks.
• Drive inventory optimization, improve stock accuracy and turnover, and manage critical materials proactively.
• Use root cause analysis to resolve recurring shortages and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Report material planning performance and inventory health, escalating risks with recovery plans.
• Apply SAP PS4, logistics systems, and analytics to improve planning accuracy and supply chain efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or vocational qualification in a technical or economic field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar leadership role within the automotive industry.
• Strong experience in material planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP, logistics control systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent English communication skills required.
• Proven leadership, analytical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and cross-functional influencing skills.
