Medical Superintendent (Hospital Management)

What you will do

• Oversee the hospital’s daily administration, service delivery, governance, and patient-care quality.
• Lead strategic planning, annual work-plan development, departmental planning, and implementation of organizational change.
• Manage multidisciplinary staff, direct-report performance, professional development, and human-resource processes.
• Coordinate procurement of medical and surgical supplies, facility maintenance, specialized-unit development, and financial sustainability.
• Carry out elective surgical and gynecological procedures twice weekly and manage special-clinic operations.
• Address medical-legal matters, complete P3 forms, attend court sessions, and ensure hospital safety and security.

Requirements

• MB ChB, MD, BDS, or an equivalent medical qualification.
• Postgraduate management qualification or relevant degree such as MPH, MSc, MA in hospital management, or MBA.
• At least 3 years of experience working in a busy hospital.
• At least 2 years of leadership and continuing professional development in health management.
• Experience implementing organizational change and innovative technologies to improve service delivery.
• Registration and certification by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

Nice to have

• Experience coordinating health-program consultancy visits and hospital management-board activities.
