Finance Officer

What you will do

• Process and verify supplier, partner, staff, and statutory payments, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Support annual budgets, forecasts, budget revisions, expenditure monitoring, and weekly and monthly budget variance reporting.
• Manage grant financial information, monitor compliance with donor agreements, and support grant start-up, implementation, close-out, and donor reporting.
• Review partner financial reports, participate in financial due diligence, and support partner capacity-strengthening plans.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with hirify.global financial policies, delegated authority requirements, and audit procedures.
• Prepare bank payments, administer petty cash where applicable, and collaborate with finance, operations, logistics, and programme teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in accounting or financial management, including support for donor-funded projects.
• Experience with computerized accounting systems or ERP platforms.
• Good knowledge of budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, financial systems, communication, analytical, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English and commitment to hirify.global’s safeguarding policies are required.

Nice to have

• Part-qualified or fully qualified professional accountant, such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent.
