What you will do
- Perform end-to-end testing, programming downloads, startup, commissioning, and servicing for assigned HVAC and controls projects.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and control systems at customer locations while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, customers, and internal or external partners on installations, repairs, materials, and site scheduling.
- Use diagnostic software, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to resolve equipment and system issues.
- Support safety, asset accountability, and project requirements, including overtime, occasional overnight stays, and participation in an on-call rotation.
- Mentor team members and provide field-level support to Trane system engineers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or an accredited technical school certificate; typically 10 or more years of HVAC experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, lighting, and energy management controls, including sensors, actuators, and VFDs.
- Proficiency in BAS integration, BACnet, Modbus, Niagara, control logic editing, sequence optimization, and system reporting.
- Ability to independently manage complex, multi-platform environments and solve technical issues analytically.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to explain complex technical issues and system behavior.
- Valid driverβs license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations in the previous three years.
Nice to have
- Technical school or formal HVAC training.
- EPA certification, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer.
